Case Studies

Client: 120-person regional law firm

Objective: See who knows who and send marketing communications more easily

Result: over 100 lists combined into one

Actions: Combined 100 spreadsheets of contacts together for a 120-person regional law firm. Combined the duplicate contacts so the firm could see ‘who they knew’, ‘who knew who’ and fuller details for each contact (e.g. if a contact was in 4 mailing lists, and one record had an email, another record had a phone, another an address etc. The resulting record for the contact had the email, phone and address and tagged onto 4 mailing lists).

Client: 100-Person Law Firm

Objective: Find out what legal topics and issues their contacts are interested in.

Actions: Emailed as many of the contacts that a 100-person law firm had as part of a Spring Clean of their database.

We asked the contacts to check and update their own details – and indicate their legal interests.

A number of good leads came from this, one that stood out was a reply saying “I’ve been trying to sort out my father’s probate for 9 years….” A great lead for their private client department, simply from checking their contact’s details.

Result: Plenty of leads, including one that stood out as “I’ve been trying to sort my Father’s probate for nine years” an immediate notification to the private client team!

Client: 1,000-Person Global Law Firm

Objective: Give us strategic marketing data

Actions: ‘Spring Cleaned’ the whole 300,000 contact database for a 1,000-person law firm. The project involved contacting clients and contacts via email and post to verify and enhance their details.

Numerous benefits as a result; More targeted mailing lists, better click rates, easier segmentation of opportunities, 30% of the database deleted.

Result: Over 300% rise in response rates to the first three invites sent after the project

Client: National Law Firm

Objective: Move us onto email

Actions: Moved a law firm away from postal mailing to email-only mailings.
Saving costs, increasing the ability to send ‘breaking news’ updates and interact with their contacts far more easily.
Result: Easy ways to contact the people who wanted to engage with us!

Client: 2,500-Person Global Law Firm

Objective: Personalised newsletter content

Actions: Set up a ‘tailored content newsletter’ so that a large law firm could send one email a week, but contacts that said they were interested in Employment only saw Employment articles, and contacts that were interested in Private Client issues only saw those articles.

Result: Weekly newsletter tailored to 80,000 different contents. No contacts over-communicated with, or forgotten and missed off.

Client: 1,200-Person International Law Firm

Objective: Relaunch our CRM system

Actions: Produced and presented all the Lawyer and Secretary user guides, 2-minute video clips and training sessions (specific sessions for Lawyers and support staff, different teams and online) for a 1,500 person law firm.
Moved usage of the CRM system from “nothing much for the last 5 years” to more activity in a few months than all of that time.
Result: More BD logged in one year than in the previous 18 years added together

Client: 1,200-Person International Law Firm

Objective: Help our lawyers understand what is happening with their clients

Actions: Setup ‘Weekly Activity Alerts’ for lawyers so they were alerted when activity happened to their contacts in the CRM system. For instance, they would easily see if their colleagues had met their contact, or if their contact had clicked on a mailshot link to read more.
Result: Weekly activity alerts, pre-meeting briefings and post-meeting prompts to log BD notes.
